“ The food was really amazing. What a great find just by the water. Cute little space with amazing service. The cod croquette and suckling pig was beautiful. And the duck fried rice with drizzle cheese as well as the sweet potato was such a good combination. Wish we ordered more! ”

“ We wanted something quick to eat and found this spot by the water. We were genuinely shocked at how delicious everything was. We ordered the bacalhau and duck rice which were both so well seasoned and filling. Paired with a port tonic, we couldn’t have asked for a better mid afternoon meal. If you’re lucky enough to snag a table by the water, this dining experience will be so worth it! ”

“ I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant recently, and I must say, the food exceeded my expectations. Each dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The highlight of the meal was the main course – tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Even the side dishes were thoughtfully crafted and complemented the main flavors wonderfully. The dessert was the perfect ending – not too sweet, and absolutely delicious. Overall, the experience was delightful, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and a cozy atmosphere. ”

“ Amazing! Very happy Staff! It was busy and a lot of work, but they still always had time for a smile and a word or two the food was fantastic, seasoned and cooked to perfection! We got great recommendations for local white wine to the food and port wine for the desert. I would suggest to plan ahead and book table if you are more than 2 ppl or don't want to wait. It's always full and with waiting list (for a reason ) ”

“ Beautiful view at lunchtime. At the server's suggestion, we had fresh cod filet and duck rice, and a small lettuce heart salad. All delicious and reasonably priced, especially for this location. The Arroz de pato in a rich cheesy sauce was a little too much for us after the cod. We wanted to try everything. Without wine, about 23 euro per person. ”

“ Muro do Bacalhau – A Place to Share Muro do Bacalhau is a charming spot that truly embodies the concept of sharing. This restaurant is perfect for two or more people who enjoy savoring great flavors together. The interior design is a blend of traditional touches with a late 90s vibe, creating a cozy yet nostalgic atmosphere. Situated with a view of Porto’s port, the location is an added bonus, especially when paired with their selection of fine wines. The dishes are crafted with care, and sharing them enhances the dining experience. It’s worth noting that Muro do Bacalhau doesn’t accept reservations. You’ll have to try your luck. However, if you don’t get a table, the owner also runs another restaurant just down the street. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is complemented by good service and cleanliness. As for pricing, it strikes a balance between affordability and quality, making it accessible without compromising on flavor. If you’re in Porto and looking for a laid-back dining experience, Muro do Bacalhau is a solid choice for good food, good company, and a good time. ”

“ Because of its location, right on the water, we did not anticipate a good meal but it turned out to be surprisingly good, not a tourist’s trap! We really like the fresh cod, unlike the salty cod that we have been eating in Portugal, the fresh cod was buttery and melt in your mouth. Based on the waiter’s suggestion, we also tried the shrimp and “bread stew”. it’s like carbonara or risotto but with bread crumb instead of pasta or rice. It’s creamy and mildly sweet with some mild hot sauce. the shrimp tasted fresh. we topped it off with a Madeira banana bread pudding with caramel sauce. the cake was warm and they topped it with caramelizes banana slices and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. we really loved that dessert! ”

“ Absolutely delicious food!! We were super lucky to get in without a reservation, but the staff couldn’t have be more accommodating. They seemed very busy managing a lot at once but they were all very attentive and the food all came out in great time. Every dish was super tasty and full of flavour. I would highly recommend for lunch or an evening meal. ”
